Pecos is a remarkable 54-inch gelded donkey with both intelligence and a willing attitude. Originally started as a basic trail donkey with minimal training, he has since developed into a highly responsive and well-rounded riding partner. In just two weeks, he learned to ride completely bridleless—guided only by hand signals, weight shifts, and leg cues.

Despite my initial expectations, Pecos proved to be one of the smartest and most willing donkeys I’ve worked with. He picks up new skills quickly and improves with every ride. He’s friendly without being pushy, easy to catch even in open pasture, and comfortable around people. Whether riding out solo in the mountains, in a group, or working through obstacles in an arena, Pecos handles it all with ease.
